The Elves are masters of all forms of warfare, and nowhere can this been seen more than in the ranks of the much feared Elven Defenders. They patrol the edges of the old forests, and it is they who are the first to meet any foe in battle. Often forced to hold the enemy back until reinforcements arrive, the Elven Defender formation is designed for tactical flexibility and resilience. It consists of a mix of Spearmen and Archers, each warrior well drilled to fight together effectively.
Bow-armed Elves lay down a deadly hail of fire, yet if they enemy seeks to engage the Elven Defenders in combat they are met with the stout spears of those in the rear ranks. So well trained are the Defenders that they have been known to hold off forces ten times their number for days on end, fighting stoically until the Elven warhosts arrives and descends on the enemy in fury. With many of the fiercest and most warlike of all Elves in its ranks, the Elven Defenders form the frontline in any engagement.
