We’ve had great success with our Kickstarter projects, funding each one of them in an ever-faster amount of time.
Here’s a brief overview of each of our projects:
Deadzone is the futuristic skirmish board game played between two elite armies of miniatures. Players choose from one of six races and play in an urban cityscape depicted by a gridded board and a set of hard plastic, fully customisable, modular scenery tiles. These scenery tiles use an innovative connector system and are built on a 3”x 3” template so make assembling your buildings very easy!
Deadzone funded $1,216,482 from 4,306 people allowing us to create six expansions, six booster sets, a range of Mercenary fighters, special characters, and light vehicles and mech warriors, as well as four Scenery themes (Core Worlds, Ruins, Landing Pad and Fortifications), plastic Plague Zombies, digital campaign books, rules downloads and much much more!
DreadBall is the fun, fast and furious sports game set in the far future. Two teams of miniatures led by their coach (that’s you!) play ball on a futuristic pitch to out-score their opponent. It’s a brutal game packed with deft dodges and hefty slams, and only the most skilful of players will survive!
DreadBall raised $728,985 from 2,539 allowing us to expand from 2 teams of plastic miniatures to 12, as well as introduce 2 expansions, over 20 MVPS, 5 big multi-hex models and a range of accessories from Acrylic Counters and Pitches to Cheerleaders and Coaches.
The Kings of War initially started out as a way to fund our Rulebook and adding some new hero models into the range. What it ended up doing was introducing over 22 new units such as Werewolves, Trolls – even an entirely new human army – exciting new heroes like Jullius and Samacris (characters who were actually sculpted to resemble our two highest backers!) plus two expansion supplements to the Kings of War game – Kings and Legends and The Basilean Legacy.
It was our first foray onto Kickstarter and we were totally unprepared - it took us completely by surprise and funded $354,997 from 1568 backers. We weren’t even sure before we started that we were going to hit our funding goal of $5,000!
Kings of War was featured on CNN Money’s Kickstarter feature and was listed in the top 16% of projects that were successfully shipped on time.
LOKA – The game of elemental strategy is a great chess variant played with detailed figures based on the four elements. The game was written by Alessio Cavatore and made in association with River Horse Games. It used a completely separate design team (with the exception of our concept artist during the course of the campaign) with Mantic handing the Kickstarter project and fulfilment.
LOKA funded $104,172 from 745 backers.

In DreadBall Xtreme, two teams battle it out on the pitch to outscore each other, with all new twists:
- No Referee = More Violence for Everyone: with no one to stop the bloodshed, anything goes! Sucker punches and stomps are the norm, and the introduction of explosive collars, deadly traps and bloodsucking aliens only increase the level of violence.
- Customize your Battlefield: games are organized in prisons and warehouses at a moment’s notice, using industrial scenery to shake things up - everywhere from the scoring zone to the ball launch location can change!
- Play as Enigmatic Sponsors: the powerful organizers behind the game, Sponsors dictate your play-style and are experts in intimidation, blackmail and illegal gambling. Best of all, Sponsors allow you to build entirely unique teams out of any player combination you like!
