The adventure begins anew as the Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest core game and expansions are back in stock at the end of the month – if you weren’t able to get everything the first time, now’s your chance! Look out for Dungeon: The Dwarf King’s Quest and expansions being available in stores from the end of June, or pre-order now to reserve yours. What is Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest? Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest is the exciting 2-5 player dungeon crawling adventure game, set in the world of Mantica. One player takes control of the evil Necromancer, Mortibris. Bent of world domination, he seeks the legendary book of Valandor to expand his power. Opposing him are the four heroes, Danor, Madriga, Orlaf and Rordin. Each of these can be controlled by a player, or all of them controlled by one player (or any combination in between). The Necromancer raises his undead minions – skeletons, zombies, zombie trolls – to stop the heroes and bring them down. Though these creatures are not powerful foes, they have numbers and immortality (of a sort) on their side. As the heroes venture deeper into the dungeon, the threats get [...]

The Walking Dead: All Out War launched just before Christmas and in that short time it has become our most successful retail launch ever. We’ve already seen numerous unboxing videos, battle reports and painting guides but, unbelievably, we’ve been led to believe that some of you out there still haven’t played The Walking Dead: All Out War. So, here are our top six reasons why you need to play… 1. Recreate iconic moments from the comic series The Walking Dead comic series has been around since 2003 and it’s currently on issue 164! In that time there have been numerous iconic scenes, like the time SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER met up with SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER and killed SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER or that amazing scene when SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER cut off SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER… ouch! Although you’re free to recreate these moments yourself, we’re also releasing several expansions that give you the chance to actually live these stories and become a Survivor. We’ve already released Days Gone Bye, which details how Rick Grimes manages to meet back up with his family, and Prelude to Woodbury, which gives you the first glimpses of Brian Blake’s transformation into The Governor. However, these are only just the beginning and later this year you’ll be able [...]

Hi everyone, Sorry, we realise it’s been a couple of weeks since we posted anything about Zak, Dave and Rob’s progress for their Kings of War armies. Little things like the office party and Valentine’s Day have unfortunately gotten in the way of our weekly Tuesday night gatherings… however, that doesn’t mean the guys haven’t been busy on some quality hobby time at home (well, Rob and Dave have). Rob’s Dwarfs Rob has arguably taken the lead at the moment with five units painted: two regiments of Ironclad, a regiment of Shieldbreakers, a regiment of Berserker Brock Riders and an Ironbelcher Cannon. This clocks in at a respectable 670 points so far and he’s just about to finish off another Ironbelcher Cannon… well, it wouldn’t be a Dwarf army without a decent gun line, would it? Then it’s on to the Earth Elementals, with a couple of Earth Elemental regiments and a couple of Greater Earth Elementals, which will hopefully form the backbone of Rob’s army. You can see Rob’s progress on his latest units below: Rob’s Brock Riders, which features the metal command upgrade for his leader. Hmm… if only that were available on the website *hint hint* Don’t [...]

Late pledges for the Star Saga Kickstarter are available until February 28th and to provide you with a little bit of inspiration, today we’re unveiling the Kickstarter Exclusive Blaine miniature that will come with the Star Saga core pledge. To whet your appetite even more, here’s a little background about the game… Through his network of underground contacts, Blaine has been offered a job. It is a simple one, though not without risk, and requires some amount of discretion. Although the use of small military forces, or ‘shadow teams’, in corporate espionage is quite common within the GCPS, it is still something most corporations prefer to keep off their official books. Data relating to vaccine development has been stolen from the client corporation and taken to a research facility hidden beneath the surface of Eras. The job is to recover this data and destroy all records of its presence. Bonuses will be paid for any samples of the target corporation’s own work recovered and anyone on the job will also be free to keep anything else they find of value during the op. There is a front operation that will need to be penetrated and there will be armed guards. [...]

Hi everyone, it’s Bensome here from the Direct Misfire podcast. It may just be me, but I’ve been noticing a lot of talk amongst newer players about Dwarfs lately; asking for opinions on certain builds, which units are good and “what should I take?” I thought I might throw in my two bob and give you my musings on some safe, effective unit choices for the newer player. If you’re after a more in depth analysis of the entire army, you could also download our Dwarf Army Review and have a listen. The dwarf army as a whole is a slower moving but highly resistant and reliable force. The choices available to a dwarf player are wide and varied allowing many different and effective builds. I’ve seen the all cavalry army, the gun line, the massed ranks of infantry, the monster-mash, and even the Multiple Small Unit (MSU) list decked out with Throwing Mastiffs. So I guess it’s no wonder that when a fresh dwarf player is confronted with options available, they ask for help. So here I am to save the day! Below are my top three choices for the new dwarf player: BERSERKER BROCK RIDERS The first and [...]
