5 Reasons You’ll Love Halo: Flashpoint
11th Jul 2025
Dan Mapleston
Halo: Flashpoint launched towards the end of 2024, and wow - the last 7 months have been an absolute rollercoaster.
From an early peek at those first Spartan Minis ('hey, what about Elites?'), to the reveal of the Sangheili ('oh, there they are!'), and the full-colour card terrain, and the slick gameplay...it was clear even from those earliest previews that the game was going to be something very special with anticipation through the roof.
And the team here haven't taken their foot off the gas, with something new and great dropping into the game every few months - plus polishing the rules, adding app support, organised play, and much more!
So, if you like what you see, and have been on the fence so far, let's recap why NOW really is the best ever time ever to jump into the game.
1. It Actually Feels Like Halo!
If you want to step into the Halo Universe off the screen, this is how you do it.
UNSC Spartans, Sangheili Elites, Jiralhanae Brutes, Master Chief, Warmaster Atriox....every release brings another piece of the universe within reach (no pun intended), and there's so much more on the way.
And it's not just the minis that will transport you into the world of Halo...
Full-colour card terrain (or modular plastic kits if you want to let your creative side loose) takes you from vibrant UNSC Outposts to fortified Banished Garrisons and beyond.
And then there's the fast-paced gameplay, designed to suit the slick sci-fi combat that fans know and love.
So, there's one recurring comment that we love to hear more than any other about the game, and it's this...."Wow, it really does feel like Halo" 😊
2. Get the Rules Your Way
Firstly, it's special offer time! You can get the starter set rulebook for free by joining our email newsletter - what a bargain, and you'll always be up to date. Just click HERE.
So where else can you get it, and everything else?
In The Box
You'll get all the printed cards and rules you need included with boxes of Halo: Flashpoint miniatures, but if you want something that feels a little more 26th-Century there are now digital options too.
The Halo: Flashpoint App
Full to bursting with functionality (and more coming), the web app is your central hub for Halo: Flashpoint. You can find events, track your collection, build fireteam lists, browse a 'living' ruleset - always up-to-date with the latest expansions and errata - and much more.
There's a ton of content absolutely free to get started with, and additional premium features for subscribers.
Make sure to check it out at: https://haloflashpoint.manticgames.com/the-app/
Rules & Expansion PDFs
If you'd prefer to just simply download the rules or expansions you want as one-off PDFs, then we've got you covered there as well.
You'll find them right here: https://www.manticgames.com/halo-flashpoint/
3. Organised Play is Locked and Loaded
It's time to get competitive, and there's something out there for everybody.
From In-Store Play, to Organised Play Packs and Grand Tournaments, things are hotting up globally - all ready for you to come along and enjoy!
And where do you find these events, you may well ask?
They're on the web app's Event Finder, right here: https://haloflashpoint.manticgames.com/the-app/halo-flashpoint-events/
4. Rapid-Fire Fun With Tactical Depth
Proven across three editions and countless games, the Deadzone Rules Engine was the starting point for designing Halo: Flashpoint - but the game quickly evolved into something else entirely.
Shields, respawns, and videogame-style play modes give a pace and atmosphere that's both fresh and exciting.
Want a feel for how it plays? Check out some fun battle reports from channels we think are well worth checking out:
And when you've mastered the starter set, get ready to customise your fireteams with gear, orders and equipment!
This is a game that evolves with you as you go beyond the starter set, so the War Games Expansion gives you all this and more - bringing the drafting-style team building into a full-on tactical skirmish system. And it's glorious.
Top Tip: You can also get those rules as a separate PDF and within the Halo: Flashpoint app itself - and the free list builder will automatically validate your list! Just pick from the minis and weapon/gear cards in your collection.
5. A Community That's Growing and Shaping The Game
Halo: Flashpoint isn’t just a game you play – it’s a friendly new Halo community you become a part of.
From local store nights, to sharing inspiring hobby projects online, and speculating excitedly about the next cool release(!), there's a great global group of hobbyists forming around the game.
And the team here at Mantic HQ are always listening to what players like, and what they want to see in the future.
There's a warm welcome for all, whether you're here for the competition, the creativity, or the camaraderie.
