Welcome Initiate - Assassin's Creed Animus is now available and ready to ship from today!
Welcome to a competitive board game for 1-4 players ages 12 and up, where you'll dive headfirst into the memories of legendary Assassins, pursue Templars, and compete to become a Master Assassin. Games take around 40-90 minutes, and the cast of different Assassins, strategies and exciting challenges mean you'll always find yourself wanting 'just one more go'.
It's so enjoyable that when we first revealed the prototype version at Gen Con, and our team had spent a long day demonstrating the game over and over again...when they got back to the hotel the first thing they wanted to do was get it back on the table again (always a very, very good sign)! And if you're here, then you probably love both Assassin's Creed and tabletop games just as much as we do.
So with two versions of the game available, which is the one that belongs on your shelf? Let's take a look...
Choose Your Edition. Choose Your Assassin. Make History.
Standard Edition - The Core Experience
The Standard Edition focuses on four Assassins: Altaïr, Ezio, Connor and Eivor. This all-star line-up spans the original game, the Ezio trilogy, the American Revolution and Viking Age England, and gives you four distinctly different ways to experience the action of Assassin's Creed Animus.
When you play as each character, it's not just a case of different playing pieces and artwork. Each Assassin brings their own locations, targets, equipment and asymmetric special mechanics, meaning that playing as Altaïr feels very different from the decisions you'll make as Eivor. The objective and win conditions may be the same, but the route you take to achieve them won't be.
And that's before you factor in the stealthy schemes of your fellow players, and the deck-driven mix of memories, targets and equipment that will show up differently every time. Get ready for a lot of adventure packed into one box.
Collector's Edition - Taking Things Up a Level...or Twelve
But...you know what we're like. The Collector's Edition of Assassin's Creed Animus starts with everything found in the Standard Edition and then we...really went for it. Made possible by, and available first to our Kickstarter backers, we have a limited number of these incredible boxes available for Mantic fans. It's a one-print limited edition, and if you're a fan then you won't want to miss it.
Alongside the core roster of Altaïr, Ezio, Connor and Eivor, you'll gain access to twelve (yes, twelve!) additional Assassins, a further six historical settings to adventure through, an exclusive Event Deck packed with knowing references to the Assassin's Creed universe, and a host of premium upgrades designed to make every trip you (and your friends) take into the Animus feel like an event.
All these additional characters mean a whole host of new mechanics, abilities and approaches to the game, dramatically increasing the variety on offer. There's always another Assassin to master, another strategy to explore, and another ancient city to stalk your Templar targets across!
There was also the substantial challenge of how to neatly store so much content in a way that didn't slow down set up or gameplay, or fill your Kallax with lots of different smaller boxes for the same game. Our solution was to make the best and most ambitious storage solution we've ever produced - the Master Assassin's Chest. It's designed to keep the collection together and looking every bit as impressive as the contents deserve - all in neat separate draws for miniatures, player boards, cards and more. If you like your games nicely organised, then you're going to LOVE this.
In a nutshell then, if you want the ultimate Assassin's Creed Animus experience with massively more content, an incredibly wide assortment of characters and adventures to play, with premium components and a fantastic storage setup...this is the one for you.
