Kings of War Champions Update: New Releases and More

The wait is over! The latest wave of Kings of War Champions releases, first revealed back in February, are now available to purchase from the Mantic webstore and at retail.
Leading the charge is Xorxoi Prowlmaster, joined by two more Company Boxes and the full range of Champions now available as individual miniatures.
In other news, Champions is coming to the Mantic Companion very soon, and two Champions are getting a balance update, which means updated versions of their cards. Read on for more details!
Xorxoi Prowlmaster – Champion of the Xirkaali
Xorxoi Prowlmaster has been one of the most talked-about Champions since his reveal, and now he’s finally here.
Xorxoi is a hemicyon plainstalker of the Xirkaali Empire, a veteran tracker who has spent years roaming the Empire’s frontiers. He feels most alive when he's out in the wilds, pushing into unknown lands and seeing what lies beyond the next horizon.
Now, with the Xirkaali turning their gaze west, Xorxoi is ready to lead the way into Mantica, alongside his loyal tiangou companion, Chakkha, determined to confront the growing spread of magic across Pannithor.
The Xorxoi Prowlmaster Company Box marks the Champions debut of the Xirkaali, Kings of War’s newest faction, who are currently launching a massive invasion of Western Pannithor – a story you can read more about in the novel Stand at Callenspire by Joshua Reynolds.

New Champions Company Boxes – Ready to Play
Xorxoi is joined by two more Champions Company Boxes, each offering a complete force ready to play straight out of the box:
Alanis Sullustis Company Box
Alanis Sullustis fights to live up to a legendary name, leading from the front with faith and conviction. Her hymns and sermons inspire her allies to acts of true Basilean heroism.
The Bloody Cardinal Company Box
Once a proud Basilean cardinal, Alustus Cassius fell to greed and was reborn as the Bloody Cardinal. Now he stalks the battlefield with an insatiable hunger, hunting down his next victim.
Champions as Single Miniatures
Alongside the Company Boxes, all Champions are now available as individual miniatures from the Mantic webstore.
That means you can now:
- Add characters like Xorxoi Prowlmaster, Axel Tricklebrook, or Taran Bligh directly into your Kings of War armies
- Or pick up these beautifully-sculpted MasterCraft Resin models purely for the joy of painting them
Every Champion is now available to take as a unit in the respective army list for Kings of War 4th Edition, meaning these characters can now pull double duty in your games of Champions and Kings of War.
Champions Comes to the Mantic Companion
We’re also excited to share that Kings of War Champions is coming to the Mantic Companion.
From Friday 10th April, you’ll be able to access the core rules within the Companion’s free tier. Unit cards and stats will be available for those with a paid Club Membership or those with a paid Single Membership for Kings of War.
We already have five full Mantic game systems in the Companion (Kings of War, Armada, Deadzone, Firefight and Epic Warpath), and Champions will become the sixth!
If you haven't tried the Companion yet, we highly recommend checking it out. You get everything you need to support your gaming journey in one place, whether that's building lists, reading the rules, or checking your units' stats and special rules during a game. It makes all of those things much quicker and easier, allowing you to focus on what's important - enjoying the game!
Plus, here's a tip: new membership tiers and prices are coming into effect from 1st May. If you take out an annual subscription before then, you can lock in the current price for a full year!
Updated Cards for Alanis Sallustis and the Bloody Cardinal
Based on player feedback since release, we have made some balance updates to the Alanis Sullustis and Bloody Cardinal Companies.
These updates are reflected in new card versions, marked “v1.1” in the bottom left corner, as shown in the image below.
Here is what that means in practice:
- The new Company Boxes for Alanis and the Bloody Cardinal include the updated cards as standard
- New copies of the Faith and Fury starter set will also include them
If you already own the original version of Faith and Fury, you have two options, both of which will be available from Friday 10th April:
- Download the updated cards as a free PDF from the Mantic website, to print at home
- Or purchase a set of physical cards from the webstore for a small fee
No other Companies are affected by these changes.
