Worms: The Board Game – Preview

Hey everyone,

Now don’t get jealous – but we’ve recently been playing Worms with the crew at Team17 and wanted to give you a bit of an update on where things stand with this upcoming game!

The basic game design is complete, we’ve playtested and refined the brilliantly addictive gameplay, we’ve sculpted our worms, and demo copies are making their way (right now!) to board game reviewers. We’ve been working on this game for a long time now, and it’s all very exciting.

As with any game still in development, everything shown here is still subject to tweaks and improvements. We’ve been working closely with our friends at Team17 to ensure that we deliver an utterly authentic Worms experience!

So with that little caveat out of the way, here’s a first sneak peek at the game…

As you can see, we have a hex-based landscape that your Worms will move around, collecting crates, dodging mines, and getting into position with the right weapon at the right time to unleash total tabletop hilarity on your foes. Keep your team alive, whittle down the opposition, and win the day!

We have classic weapons, supplies, a destructible landscape, oil drums, wind, and should the game go on long enough…one of several sudden death cards will be waiting at the bottom of the deck…

And of course, we have our Worms! These are some of the most downright fun miniatures we’ve ever had the privilege to work on, and they’re full of charm and humour.
