Deadzone Global Campaign: Week Three Recap

7th Jun 2022

Rob Burman

It’s week four of the Deadzone Global Campaign and the Veer-myn are continuing to run rampant! Can anything be done to stop these furry invaders? This week we’re unveiling the final Deadzone location, before the climatic finale next week.

ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT

The Enforcers continue to maintain marginal control of the Entertainment District, which is where the outbreak began. However, the main threat is no longer from the Veer-myn that erupted from beneath the DreadBall stadium, and instead the Rebs are providing strong opposition for the Council’s finest. If they can beat the Enforcers, it would provide a major coup for the rebellious underdogs.

RESEARCH DISTRICT

It’s not looking great for the Research District, as the rats maintain control of the Mazon facility. Despite some initial opposition from the Enforcers and GCPS, it appears as though the Veer-myn have overrun the local defences. Can anyone stop them?

PORT DISTRICT

Over in the Port District, and it’s a similar story. However, here the Asterians are attempting to wrestle control from the invasion of rats… perhaps concerned about what would happen if the Veer-myn get their paws on the weather-controlling technology of the Nameless.

NEW AREA: INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT

Away from the bright lights of Magnetar’s casinos and arena, the Industrial District is a bleak region of dirt, oil and hazardous chemicals. The slums the surround that Industrial District are packed with weary-eyed workers whose tireless hours only help to fill the pockets of the factory owners back in the First Sphere.

In a Deadzone, however, factories can provide rich pickings for resource-strapped Strike Teams. When the workers down tools, they’ll often leave behind half-built vehicles, items that can used by engineers in the field or secret tech that factories would normally keep securely under wraps.

The factories aren’t without their dangers though. With no workers to provide maintenance, pipes full of lethal gases can burst open and catch unwary resource hunters by surprise.

The final Deadzone location is the hazardous Industrial District, full of Toxic Clouds that will provide cover for the Strike Teams… but could prove dangerous if you happen to be nearby when one erupts. This area is currently ripe for the picking, so any faction could easily take control!
