You become a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence (BPRD), ready to investigate occult threats that threaten our very existence. You will explore gothic locations, hunt down clues, discover artefacts, fight horrific creatures and face off against terrifying bosses.
CRACK THE CASE
Designed by James M. Hewitt and Sophie Williams, Hellboy: The Board Game features an innovative Case Files system to run each mission for you. Each of the missions in the core game begins by reading a BPRD Case File. This will set the scene for the investigation ahead and give hints about what threats you may encounter. The contents of each Case File are top secret, so the first time you play you’ll have no idea what you’re about to face!
DECK OF DOOM!
While the Case File system runs the game, the Deck of Doom is guaranteed to mess with your best laid plans. Each turn, you must draw a card from the ominous Deck of Doom. Each card may spawns new minions, advance the Impending Doom track or target specific agents.

CARD TYPES
Hellboy: The Board Game comes complete with a range of different cards – including Agent Cards with your stats on, Deck of Doom cards, Case Files and lots more. You can see a preview of the cards below.
Deck of Doom
No game plays the same, thanks to the ominous Deck of Doom. Draw a new card each turn… and pray for the best.
Case Files
Each case is run by the innovative Case File system. Each file explains how to set up the mission and is sealed in a special envelope, so you’re never sure what’s coming up!
Encounter Cards
As you explore each location, you’ll need to flip over Encounter Cards to see what’s inside each room. Will it be a vital clue or a deadly Frog Monster?
Equipment Cards
Each B.P.R.D. Agent comes with their own starting equipment and you can find more items during each mission. Use them wisely!
