Event Round-Up: Clash of Kings UK 2026
Clash of Kings UK returned to Nottingham on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September, bringing together around 160 players for two action-packed days of Kings of War.
Hosted once again at Nottingham High School and expertly organised by Steve Hildrew and the Clash UK Committee, it remains the biggest Kings of War tournament in the world, and a true celebration of the game, the community and the hobby.

As always, it was a very international affair, with players travelling not just from across the UK but from further afield, including Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Poland, Singapore and the USA - and we're sure there were a few more, so pre-emptive apologies to you if we've missed your country off the list!
Despite an intense schedule and some high-end competitive play, the atmosphere in the room was friendly, relaxed and welcoming – exactly what Clash of Kings, and the Kings of War community as a whole, is known for.
Congratulations to the Winners
At the top end of the standings, Antonio Carrasco took first place with Northern Alliance, followed by Javier Talavero, also with Northern Alliance, and Radoslaw Brylowski in third with Trident Realm of Neretica.

A huge congratulations to all three, and to everyone who battled through six games across the weekend. Danny Graves won the Counter Charger award for finishing slap bang in the middle of the field with his Forces of Nature, while lower down the rankings, Heather Armstead (Xirkaali) and Erin Freeman (Abyssal Dwarfs) took home the Wooden Spoon and “Mostly ‘Armless” awards respectively. Proof that winning isn’t everything, and you can have an awesome time at Clash regardless of where you finish!

The atmosphere in the gaming halls was buzzing throughout the event.
The hobby standard was hugely impressive. Chris Walsh won Best Army for his beautifully converted army of frogs, followed by Glen Wareing’s stunning Xirkaali, and Tom King’s wonderfully creative Empire of Dust.
We’re planning to feature all three of those armies here on the Mantic blog in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Judge’s Painting Awards were also given to Martin Ofner, Ged Courtney, Tom Wiggins, Andy Marshall and Chris Pudney. Congratulations to all five. Beautiful armies all round!
And it wasn’t just the award winners. Top-notch painting, conversions, multi-basing and display boards were everywhere you looked. You can’t be in the room at Clash without coming away inspired to start a new army of your own!

New Players Welcome
One of our favourite stories from the weekend was Cornelia Leitner, who played her first training game of Kings of War at Mantic HQ the day before Clash, then jumped into her first proper game during round one. Cornelia, we salute you!
It also sums up something Steve was keen to emphasise when we caught up with him at the event. Clash attracts some of the best competitive players in the game, but it is far from being an event only for veterans.
Everyone is welcome, whether you're a long-time veteran or a total beginner.
Players of all experience levels take part, and as the event progresses, the pairing system naturally brings you up against opponents on a similar level. If you have ever thought about coming along but worried that “it’s only for serious, competitive players”, that’s simply not true. Steve’s advice is clear: do it!
News from Saturday Night
As is tradition, Ronnie also gave a talk on Saturday evening, sharing information about the upcoming Arrogance expansion book (including some new miniature reveals!), and news about how the expansion books will change going forwards.
The new Mammoth is set to launch alongside Arrogance later this year.

Thank You from Mantic
On behalf of Ronnie and the whole team here at Mantic, we'd like to say a massive "thank you!" to Steve, the Clash UK Committee, everyone who helped make the event happen, and of course every player who travelled to Nottingham and made the weekend what it was.
Great games, beautiful armies and a venue full of people enjoying Kings of War together. It’s hard to ask for much more than that.
