From Deadzone To Firefight – Levelling Up Your Force

3rd Aug 2023

Jonny Mann

Hey everyone, Jonny here

So…like every sane person in the known universe, you love Deadzone. And rightly so: this fast paced skirmish game, battled out over multiple levels of sprawling buildings, has so much to love.

But what if you want more? What if you want tanks, aircraft, artillery…you know, the big stuff?

Well, then you want to level up to Firefight!

In today’s blog, we will look at just how easy it is to take a Deadzone Strike Team and level up to a Firefight Strike Force!

We will use the ever-popular and versatile Enforcers for this example. More precisely we will be building Pathfinder-themed lists!

Let’s first take a look at the chosen Deadzone Strike team that we will build from. I have aimed for a 150 point strike team I like the theme of, rather than a super competitive list (Deadzone pros – don’t judge me!) for the purpose of this exercise, keeping to something more like what regular players may already have.

Expanding To Firefight

So for starters, having built this list, you are probably the proud owner of a few extra Pathfinder infantry and at least one extra Monocyle, so let’s make use of them.

This brings your list to 410 points. A good point level to start playing Firefight at is 1000 points – so what next?

Under regular Firefight rules* you’re going to want more infantry to unlock specialist or support units.

*  In the new Command Protocols book, you will have the choice of playing Annihilation rules, where tanks, vehicles and aircraft reign supreme in armoured combat. It’s cinematic, brilliant, and explosively good fun.

A couple of boxes of Pathfinders will give you more than enough to field a few 5 man squads, or you could grab some extra if 10 man squads are more your thing.

Now you have enough to start unlocking some big guns! For this list I wanted some air superiority, so in go two Accuser Interceptors. Then finally, to give me some extra command dice, we’ll round out our command choices.

New Unit Options

Of course, a great way to expand your Pathfinder force into Firefight AND get your hands on some great new units would be to treat yourself to the new Enforcer Pathfinder Recon Force, currently available to Pre-Order.

Containing 20 Pathfinders, including D.O.G Drones to further expand the units plus the brand new Enforcer Drones and C3M4 Combat Drones, this has everything but I won’t drone on about it…

So there you go, it can be very easy and a lot of fun to take the plunge from Deadzone to Firefight and still be able to play the greatest skirmish game ion the world whenever you like too!
