What’s happening at the Mantic Open Day?

21st Nov 2016

Rob Burman

It’s not long now until the Mantic Open Day (it takes place this Saturday, November 26th) and after telling you about some of the fantastic Open Day Deals last week, today we’ve got a full run down of the various activities and seminars that will be taking place on the day.

Seminars

Typically these are always a fantastic way to find out more about what’s going on at Mantic, along with discovering more details about the making of our games. During the Open Day, there will be three seminars:

The Making of The Walking Dead: All Out War – Ronnie will be on-hand to talk about the making of The Walking Dead and what’s next for the game.

Kings of War – find out more about the Kings of War Summer Campaign, new armies for 2017 with our own Matt Gilbert and get some tactical from Nick Williams of the Kings of War Committee

Mantic: Past, Present and Future – typically Ronnie always like to give some teasers about future Mantic projects, so this will be a great chance for you to get your questions answered.

Factory Tour

Mantic Open Day
A little like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you can see where the magic happens with a tour round the Mantic Factory. Thankfully, there will be no singing and no one will get turned into a giant blueberry (we hope).

However, for a small extra charge you can see how we cast our metal miniatures and even take that mini home with you on the day. Spaces will be limited but this will be a great insight into the manufacturing process.
Star Saga demos

Star Saga Control Room
Studio Manager Stewarts Gibbs will be giving demos of Star Saga throughout the day, which will be a great opportunity for those of you who have backed the game to try it out. While those that missed out on the Kickstarter will be able to take a look ready for the late pledge option, which will be launching in the weeks to come.

Epic Kings of War Game

The Chesterfield Open Gaming Society (COGS) will be holding a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge Kings of War demonstration game. Measuring a mighty 16ft long, this is going to be a fantastic spectacle. The battle will be taking place throughout the day, so you can keep tabs on the progress and see who’s winning.

We saw the giant COGS game at Hammerhead earlier this year and it’s truly something you don’t want to miss, so come along and check it out.

Painting Workshops

Asterian Ten-Ur-GoOur award-wining studio painter Dave Neild will be running painting workshops throughout the day to help take your painting to the next level. That will be particularly useful if you’re hoping to enter our new painting competition Brush with Death.
