DISCLAIMER: The game is still in development and models are still being worked on, so some details might be different in the final version.

The Scale

Epic Warpath is an epic-scale game. This hobby term, also found in historical miniature games, simply means ‘smaller than 28mm’. But let’s be a little more precise!

Our superhuman Enforcers come in at roughly 12mm, whereas an average human would be closer to 10mm.

If you’ve come from a world of exclusively larger-scale gaming, then this might mean you don’t have any terrain in your collection for such smaller scale games…

Have no fear as we’ve got you covered, and even better – building tiny terrain is a lot of fun!

Urbanisation

Buildings are important – they instantly communicate scale, and can be used within your battlefield plans. You can make some fantastic looking terrain pieces, and they offer great opportunities for key objectives and for troops to hunker down and create offensive, or defensive, points in a battleline.

Buildings can’t typically be destroyed, and troops occupying them get several advantages. They gain the height of the building, have their Armour improved by 1 from shooting attacks, and always count as being in cover. In addition, enemy Units assaulting the building are always Hindered (-1 Combat Token, meaning a -1 to hit modifier).

All of this means we need to have a good solution for players to get buildings on the table…

So, we’re collaborating with one of our sculptors Ben (who’s worked on Terrain Crate, Armada and Firefight) to make use of his existing line of modular small-scale sci-fi terrain. And we’re not stopping there!

Together we’re extending the range with new pieces that match the style of our modular sci-fi Terrain Crate buildings! We’ll be collating these up in awesome bundles for the Kickstarter campaign so it will be super simple to get all the parts you need for your projects. Buildings, landing pads, roads…no problem!

Our photographer (another Ben!) has been building up these sets to show what is possible, but has also been going to town mixing in other pieces from our existing Terrain Crate range to make some really cool looking scenery pieces…

We can’t wait for the community to get their hands on these, and see what you all come up with…

Woods

Our recently released Terrain Crate 3 sci-fi trees are modular and contain some great pieces for making alien woods full of towering plant-life.

For this smaller scale, you can mix the smaller plants in amongst the bases and toppers trees to create a very cool and varied xeno-flora!
